Gus Edson Cartoon

The piece I'm trying to get appraised is a Gus Edson cartoon. I think this is probably a drawing of Andy Gump. I know that he took over The Gumps comic from 1935-59 and that the original creator, Sidney Smith, was the son of a dentist. So, it seems like little dental office references pop up from time to time in the strip. I haven't been able to find any other versions of this drawing specifically, so I'm not sure whether this exact piece was ever part of a strip or not.

I don't want to take it out of the frame until I have a rough idea of the value and then I'll bring it to professionals to get it reframed properly. It looks like it's just on a regular 8.5x11.5" piece of paper (you can see the ruler in the photos). The writing you see in the upper right corner is marker that the seller used to write on the glass, not on the drawing itself. Thank you!

We believe it will sell for a couple of hundred bucks on eBay.
